Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Comprehensive Cardiac Care area, partnering with the child and family to meet their unique needs.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, considering the patient's and family's individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values.
- Deliver family-centered care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Continuously evaluate and revise the nursing plan of care as needed.
- Coordinate and manage patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Utilize the nursing process, applying knowledge of growth, development, pathophysiology, and family dynamics.
- Provide care that is respectful, non-judgmental, and sensitive to diversity.
- Educate patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medical conditions, and treatments.
- Oversee patient flow and provide clinical guidance to team members.
- Participate in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and adjust interventions based on their effectiveness.
- Advocate for patients and families, engaging in ethical decision-making.
- Document nursing care responsibly, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Stay current with nursing practices through ongoing learning and competence development.
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following policies and evidence-based practices.
- Provide oversight of nursing care delivered by others, ensuring quality.
- Engage in self and peer evaluations to improve practice.
- Use resources effectively to deliver safe, effective, and cost-efficient care.
- Adhere to the Nemours Standards of Behavior, including professional appearance and dress code.
Job Requirements
- ASN required
- Active Florida or multi-state RN license required
- National certification in the clinical specialty (preferred)
- Minimum of 6 months RN experience required; pediatric specialty experience preferred
Pre-employment Requirements
- Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification; valid for 90 days post start date.
- Valid American Heart Association PALS Certification
