Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN licensure in Alabama or a compact state upon hire.
• NRP certification within 180 days of employment.
• BCLS certification upon hire.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Practice family centered nursing according to policies and Nurse Practice Act.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned and supervise, plan, evaluate, and coordinate patient care.
• Demonstrate CPR according to American Heart Association standards.
• Maintain accurate medical records and complete ADP, MARs, discharge forms per unit standards.
• Administer medications including controlled substances and blood products.
• Assist with lactation planning, breastfeeding education, and family education.
