Job summary

Berkshire Health & Rehabilitation Center in Vinton, VA is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and provide high-quality care to residents. You will supervise CNAs and deliver individualized nursing care according to each resident’s plan, while assisting with admissions, discharges, and ongoing treatments.

The role emphasizes accurate medication administration, patient education, and maintaining detailed medical records.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of nursing assistants (CNAs).
• Provide individualized nursing care to residents according to each resident’s plan of care.
• Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Explain procedures and treatments ordered to gain patients’ cooperation and allay apprehension.
• Observe vital signs to detect deviations from normal and gauge progress of the patient.
• Maintain patients’ medical records on nursing observation and actions taken.
• Record nursing needs of patient on care plan to assure continuity of care.
• Observe emotional stability of patients and prepare them for continuing care after discharge.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.
