Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed RN or LPN in Virginia.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with a diverse team and deliver patient-centered care.
• Experience supervising CNAs or coordinating patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs and provide direct patient care.
• Develop and implement patient care plans.
• Identify patient goals, address concerns of patients and families.
• Coordinate with Clinical Unit Manager on care delivery.

The Charge Nurse supervises CNAs and provides direct patient care in accordance with state, federal and MFA Nursing Policies and Procedures. This position also assists in the development/implementation of patient care plans, identifies patient goals/approaches, resolves patient/family concerns, and summarizes concerns for Clinical Unit Manager.

Qualifications include:

• Current license by the Virginia Board of Nursing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse


• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form


• Ability to interact with a variety of people and foster a team philosophy


• Ability to negotiate and interact effectively with staff, patients, families, and professional/regulatory agents
