Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the CCU on a 12-hour night shift (7pm-7:30am), including every third weekend. The role emphasizes quality direct and indirect patient care using professional nursing skills.

Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, interprofessional communication, infection control, pain management, and adherence to policy. BSN and PA RN license, BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License or active RN license in PA.
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS certification.
• CCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs, readiness to learn and barriers; incorporate education into care.
• Document admission assessment, plan, interventions and medications; monitor outcomes.
• Utilize information management system to enhance communication and document patient status.
• Communicate patient transfer and pertinent information during rounds.
• Recognize patient needs and integrate care, including abuse recognition and referral.
• Incorporate pain management and supportive care into the plan of care.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
