Description:This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab.The unit consists of 3 beds and has 8 full-time staff members, including 6 RNs and 2 technicians, along with 3 PRN staff.Staffing levels depend on the case load, requiring 3-4 staff per room and at least one technician per room during the day shift.For night shifts, the staff consists of 2 RNs and 1 technician on call.Patient ratios are maintained at 3-4 staff per patient.The unit is equipped with X-ray, impella, penumbra, IABP, various stents, sheaths, wires, guides, and atherectomy equipment.EMR systems utilized include Hemomerge and Meditech Expanse.Typical procedures performed include heart catheterizations, CTO, high-risk PCI, ablations for AFib, AFlutter, SVT, and PVC.Devices such as PPM, ICD, and Watchman are also used in this unit, along with peripheral angio with or without intervention, ECMO cannulation, and thrombectomy.An easy-going personality is best suited for this role.Standard work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.On-call duties begin after daily cases are completed.Weekend on-call is required for a 24-hour period from Friday to Sunday.
