Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse. You will provide support for invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires current Idaho RN licensure, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and 1+ year Cath Lab experience, with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as specified.

Qualifications

  • Current State of Idaho RN license in good standing.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 1+ years of Cath Lab experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS/BCLS and Certification.
  • ACLS certification within six months of hire.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • One or more years of Cath Lab RN experience required.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that take place in the cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker, tilt-table, angioplasty, stent, dialysis catheter, nephrostomy, IVC filter, IABP, pericardiocentesis, and stress testing procedures.
  • You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary care.
  • You will apply SBAR process for hand-off communication.
  • You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site prep, sterile technique, patient monitoring, and hemostasis after catheter removal.
  • You will manage emergent cases.
  • You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records and complete all paperwork.
  • You will prepare tests for physician interpretation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath Lab registered nurse you will provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. In this role:
  • You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that take place in the cath lab. These procedures include but are not limited to: cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker, tilt-table, angioplasty, stent, dialysis catheter, nephrostomy and ureteral tube, IVC filter, IABP, pericardiocentesis, and stress testing procedures.

  • You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care.

  • You will appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.

  • You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room.

  • You will manage emergent cases.

  • You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records and complete all paperwork associated with these procedures.

  • You will prepare tests for physician interpretation.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current State of Idaho RN license in good standing

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred

  • 1+ years of Cath Lab experience preferred

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire

  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire

  • One or more years of Cath Lab RN experience required
