Avera Queen of Peace Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN role with a standard Monday-Friday 8am-5pm schedule and at least one shift per week.

The position involves coordinating patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and facilitating transitions between care levels to promote optimal outcomes. Active RN license is required, with specialty certification preferred and a commitment to values of CARE.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of practice.

Responsabilités

• Acts as liaison with hospitals and other health care services to provide treatment advice and advocate for patients with payor sources.
• Identifies community resources for non-covered benefits such as medications, nutritional supplements, transportation or durable medical equipment.
• Provides patient care and assists providers as needed.
• Completes documentation, obtains insurance prior authorizations, and coordinates scheduling of procedures, testing and treatments.
• Performs and assists with medical treatment teaching and follow-up care with patients and their families.
• Assists with updating policies and procedures related to the area of responsibility.
• Assists with developing education materials for patients.
• May attend discharge planning meetings to coordinate post-procedure needs of discharged patients.
