Job summary

Hospice of Northwest Ohio seeks a registered nurse to deliver compassionate hospice care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

You will assess, plan, and coordinate patient care, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices in symptom management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing; BSN preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN through the Ohio Board of Nursing; must be able to obtain a license in the state of Michigan.
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience; hospice or nursing-home experience preferred.
• Has working experience charting in an EMR system, Netsmart system preferred.
• Possesses a strong clinical background with knowledge of disease processes and pathways.
• Possesses clinical expertise related to critical thinking, assessment, problem-solving and technical skills and be able to multitask.
• Knowledge of Medicare hospice regulations and Joint Commission regulations preferred.
• Demonstrates the ability to work with facility staff in a collaborative caregiving partnership.
• Demonstrates awareness of the hospice philosophy and compassionate care.
• Strong verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members.

Job description

• Has the ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team. Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and is insured in accordance with state and agency requirements.
• Understands the hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying, concepts of pain/symptom management, and adult teaching/learning principles.
• Meets state requirements for maintaining professional license.
• Must be CPR certified according to the American Heart Association CPR standards.
