Job summary

Deer Meadows Nursing Home in Abingdon, Virginia is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Cart Nurse to join our team. This role delivers high-quality nursing care, administers medications, coordinates care plans, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations in a resident-centered environment.

You will supervise CNAs and other nursing staff, document clinically, and foster positive relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Current and active Virginia RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a resident-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.
• Assess residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Monitor and document resident conditions and report changes to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Coordinate and implement individualized care plans.
• Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
