Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is offering limited-time RN sign-on bonus and relocation support for full-time RNs in cardiology/nursing units. Roles include days and nights with rotating weekends/holidays, with a competitive benefits package.

Eligible hires between April 1 and October 31, 2026 receive a $20,000 sign-on bonus, paid in milestone installments. Relocation assistance up to $10,000 is available for moves over 50 miles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• RN Residency program available for new grads or those with less than 12 months of acute RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Documents care to maintain accurate patient records.
• Uses critical thinking to make independent judgments and maintains knowledge of patient conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within hospital policy.
• Assesses patient and family needs, provides discharge planning teaching, and refers to community agencies for continuity of care.
• Applies a holistic approach considering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety aspects for the patient population.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, safety, and customer service.

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus for full-time eligible RNs (Including Residents) hired or offered into acute inpatient roles between April 1 and October 31, 2026, paid in milestone-based installments.

Relocation Assistance

Up to $10,000 for full-time offers when relocating more than 50 miles.

Shift Details

Full time Nights | 7p-7:30a, rotating weekends and holidays

Full time Days | 7a-7:30p, rotating weekends and holidays

Part time Days | 7a-7:30p, Weekend Package Saturday/Sunday

North 3 consists of a 24 bed post-surgical cardiac and vascular nursing department. Caring for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and procedures including cardiothoracic, cardiovascular surgery, electrophysiology procedures, and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Fast paced environment with high acuity patients requiring cardiac care and telemetry monitoring.

Experience

• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• All newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than 12 months of acute RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, are required to participate in the RN Residency program.
