Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital in Florida seeks an experienced RN for the Cardiovascular unit (CVICU/CVPCU) to care for cardiac patients during night shifts.

You will implement care plans, monitor patients, administer medications, educate families, and collaborate with the care team. Requirements include RN license, BLS, ACLS, and 1 year of acute care RN experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing and hold current RN licensure.
• BLS certification; ACLS required by hire or within first year.

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. As an RN on the CVPUC team, you will care for patients with cardiac-related diseases, ensuring they feel comfortable, secure and supported throughout treatment. All the while, you can explore advanced education and professional development courses offered by Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment based on the department service level RN is hired into
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Externship experience in the ICU

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
