Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd's Cardiovascular ICU in New Albany, IN is hiring a Registered Nurse for the CVU on nights. This full-time role offers 36 hours weekly from 7pm to 7am, with a focus on open-heart and cardiac ICU care.

The ideal candidate will hold Indiana RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 12 months, and NIH Stroke Scale certification within 10 weeks of hire; new grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS certification within 12 months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs.
• Maintain patient safety and quality standards on the CVU.

Job Duties:

In this role, theCardiac ICU RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The RN will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Cardiovascular Intensive (CVU) of Baptist Health Floyd specializes in the care of open-heart surgery patients.CVU is a modern unit providing expert cardiac care with an innovative model of care called the universal bed concept. The team leverages their clinical expertise to care for these cardiac patients on all levels from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching.While cardiac surgery patients are the primary focus, the CVU team also cares for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest.New Graduate RN's welcome!
