Job summary

Southcoast Health’s Visiting Nurse Association in Fairhaven, MA is seeking an RN specialized in Cardiopulmonary care to join the VNA team. This 40-hour day-shift role covers Swansea, Seekonk, Rehoboth and surrounding towns.

You will assess patients, provide specialized cardiac and pulmonary nursing care, and collaborate with caregivers and staff to support wellness. Relevant certifications and active RN licenses in MA/RI are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school of Nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• Two years recent hospital or other relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years Cardiac or Pulmonary nursing care experience required.
• Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the population of patients served.
• Must possess and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, databases and electronic records programs preferred.
• Current RN Licensure in Rhode Island and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Evidence of current CPR certification.
• Heart Failure Certification will be required within eligibility timeframe of 2 years, if not certified at time of hire.
• Homecare experience prefered
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Responsibilities

• Establish the standards of practice for the Staff Nurse based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Home Health Nursing Practice.
• Assess and care for patients with various health problems ranging in severity.
• Work in cooperation with individual patients, caregivers and ancillary staff.
• Advise regarding modalities to meet patient wellness and illness needs including medication, nutrition, exercise and technical nursing treatments.
• Teach and support various positive self-care activities including problem solving and treatment alternatives.

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Visiting Nurse Association - Fairhaven, MA; Area of coverage- Swansea, Seekonk, Rehoboth, Somerset, Taunton, Assonet, Raynham, Dighton, Berkely and Freetown.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
