Cardiac Telemetry is a critical care unit for patients requiring continuous heart monitoring, including those with chronic and acute cardiac and medical conditions. Common patient conditions include CHF, arrhythmias, chest pain, myocardial infarction, post-pacemaker insertion, post-cardioversion, syncopal episodes, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and electrolyte abnormalities. The unit also cares for patients with COPD, CAD, diabetes, hypertension, and those on hemodialysis. Occasionally, pre- and post-surgical patients are monitored.
