Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Registered Nurse for Ellison 8, a 36-bed cardiac surgical step-down unit in Boston. You will care for adults with complex cardiac conditions after procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, heart transplant, and VAD placement.

Job Summary

36 hours, day/night rotationJoin Ellison 8, a specialized 36 bed cardiac surgical step-down unit caring for adult patients recovering from some of the most advanced heart procedures available. This role offers experienced RNs the opportunity to care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disease, and congenital heart disease, following procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, heart transplantation, and ventricular assist device (VAD) placement. Nurses on Ellison 8 play a critical role in both recovery and education, partnering with patients and families to promote cardiac risk factor modification and support long term heart health in a highly collaborative, patient focused environment.

Summary

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
