Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Stepdown unit with a Weekend Option at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, Fri-Sun days with a weekend differential of $20/hour for hours between Friday 7:00 AM and Monday 7:00 AM.

A sign-on bonus is available for experienced and new graduate nurses. Qualified candidates will have an RN license in Missouri or compact licensure, completed ADN/ Diploma/ BSN education paths, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Missouri RN license required or compact licensure valid in the state.
• BLS certification required or will be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Three listed education paths accepted: ADN, Diploma, BSN.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the Nursing Process and maintain professional accountability.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Protect patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Evaluate overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers.

Schedule:

Weekend Option (Fri, Sat & Sun) | Full-Time |Days| 36 hours/week

Weekend Option Differential:

Earn an additional $20/hour for all hours worked between Friday 7:00 AM and Monday 7:00 AM.

Sign-On Bonus

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:

Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
