Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Florida is seeking an RN for the 5 East Cardiac Stepdown Unit. You will provide direct nursing care to a diverse patient population, implement care plans, monitor conditions, administer meds, and educate patients and families.

A flexible schedule features days from 6:45PM - 7:15AM with weekend/holiday requirements. Minimum qualifications include ADN or BSN, active RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of acute care RN experience or licensed military RN

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and BLS certification required.
• One year of acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note, carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

The 5 East Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Indian River Hospital offers acuity telemetry and medical attention to a diverse patient population. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
