Job summary

UAB Medicine's Cardiac Rehab department is seeking a PRN day-shift registered nurse to provide direct patient care at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The role requires coordination across disciplines to ensure seamless care, with nursing duties spanning assessment, plan implementation, and order execution. The incumbent will monitor patient status, communicate changes, and assist with discharge planning in a fast-paced care setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire; AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing before hire date.

• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Job Description

• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
