Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health operates a 24-bed critical care unit focusing on cardiac, thoracic and vascular care. The unit includes ICU and PCU levels, with private rooms designed for pumps/equipment and space for family support. Equipment includes CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ventilators.

Staffing follows national standards with 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 ratios. The RN will monitor and intervene for cardiac issues, start and adjust complex infusions, and manage ventilated patients and acute

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• WA RN licensure required on hire.
• BLS CPR required on hire; ACLS within 6 months.
• 1–2 years med/surg experience or new grad with senior practicum in a specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia intervention.
• Initiate and titrate complex cardiac infusions.
• Manage intubated and ventilated patients.
• Care for patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events and trauma.

Job Summary

This 24 bed critical care unit houses patients being admitted for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care. This unit also entails ICU and PCU levels of care. Each private room is large enough to house all necessary pumps and equipment while allowing for space for family support (when allowed). This includes CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ventilators. Staffing is based on national standards of care and includes: 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3.

Essential Duties

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention.


• Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.


• Manages intubated/mechanically ventilated patients.


• Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.


• Manages acute trauma patients.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire and


• Previous PCU/ICU experience or

• Certified Neuroscience RN, upon hire
