Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 24-bed Critical Care Unit focused on cardiac thoracic and vascular care. You will perform comprehensive assessments, deliver advanced nursing interventions, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires current WA RN license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and experience in med/surg or critical care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, upon hire.
• 1-2 years med/surg experience or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU orFor those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire through the American Heart Association. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

• Provides continuous cardiac monitoring arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
• Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
• Initiates and titrates drips related to critical care DKA/HHS algorithms.
• Use of phenobarbital for CIWA patients

This 24 bed Critical Care Unit houses patients being admitted for cardiac thoracic and vascular care. This unit also entails PCU levels of care. Staffing is 1-3:4.

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
• Previous PCU/ICU experience or
• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute or
• Certified Neuroscience RN
