Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of RN experience.
  • Current Virginia RN license or valid Compact State RN license.

  • Provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care according to policies.

Become a Critical Care - Resource Pool Registered Nurse (RN) at CHKD

You’ll be supported by experienced General Care and Critical Care leaders, report directly to the Resource Pool Manager, and gain exposure to diverse, high-acuity environments that build confidence and expertise. Responsibilities Include
  • Providing developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients.
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitoring patient conditions and responding appropriately to changes in clinical status.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Supporting unit operations and maintaining flexibility to meet staffing needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support patient care and hospital operations.
Qualifications

Looking for at least 1 year of RN experience.

  • Ability to adapt quickly and work efficiently across multiple clinical settings.

License And Certification Requirements
  • Current Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact State RN license.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
  • RN specialty certification preferred.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Patient care environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature extremes.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions related to patient care activities may be expected.
