Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters seeks General Care RP staff RNs to provide staffing support across General Care units. RNs work within the RP team, report to the Resource Pool Manager, and support unit leadership in delivering care.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing.
• Current Virginia state RN license or Compact State license.
• CPR and PALS training required or within 45 days of hire.

General Summary

General Care Resource Pool (RP) staff RNs are part of a team of caregivers who provide staffing support to a variety of General Care units. Assigned units will be within the General Care RP staff RN’s skill level. All General Care RP staff RNs are supported by the General Care unit leadership and reports to the Resource Pool Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
• Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

Required Licenses and/or Certifications

• Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
• CPR, PALS training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications

• RN certification preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and Experience

• Must have an Associate’s in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing.

Preferred Education and Experience

• BSN is preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and collaboratively shared leadership environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
