Job Summary and Qualifications
- Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, focusing on oncology patients, especially blood cancers and disorders.
- Assess health status and needs through data interpretation and preventive practices, collaborating with patients and the healthcare team.
- Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and formulate care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
- Implement nursing care within the RN scope, complying with applicable laws.
- Develop and deliver patient education on health promotion and restoration.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Registered Nurse license required.
- Oncology Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Bachelor's Degree required within 24 months of hire.
- Recent acute care hospital experience; oncology, BMT, ICU, or PCU experience preferred.
