Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, focusing on oncology patients, especially blood cancers and disorders.
  • Assess health status and needs through data interpretation and preventive practices, collaborating with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and formulate care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
  • Implement nursing care within the RN scope, complying with applicable laws.
  • Develop and deliver patient education on health promotion and restoration.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Registered Nurse license required.
  • Oncology Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree required within 24 months of hire.
  • Recent acute care hospital experience; oncology, BMT, ICU, or PCU experience preferred.
