The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) General Adult Inpatient Unit consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients, will work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies. The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice. The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager.
Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
The BHSL General Adult Inpatient Unit is located in the Psychiatric Research Institute building on the main UAMS campus.
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care for patients within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
