Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• California RN license required.
• Clinical experience in psychiatric settings preferred.
• 1–3 years' experience with military and behavioral health population preferably inpatient.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct patient care, set priorities and assign the most skilled staff for acutely ill patients.
• Ensure staff complete assigned duties and patient care responsibilities during the shift.
• Provide thorough unit orientation to new staff.
• Staff Nurse functions as Charge Nurse when assigned.
• Assess patients, formulate plan of care and nursing diagnoses.
• Document patient status and care in RN progress notes and graphics each shift.
• Provide shift reports with essential patient and physician information.
