Cedars Healthcare Center in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an RN Assistant Director of Nursing to lead nursing staff and ensure high-quality resident care. The role combines clinical oversight with team leadership, planning, and resource management to maintain regulatory compliance and exceptional service.

The ED/ DON-supported position requires RN licensure, a nursing degree, CPR certification, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license in the state where the center is located.
• Must have a nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years RN supervisory experience in long-term care.
• CPR certification current.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, state acts and long-term care laws.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Strong tactful interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and supervise care programs and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of new residents and inform staff of arrivals.
• Perform daily resident visits to observe status and update care plans.
• Coordinate with medical staff, residents, families, and visitors.
• Ensure dignified, respectful resident care at all times.
• Ensure staff understand residents' rights and responsibilities.
• Conduct daily unit rounds and address needs.
• Monitor nursing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in emergencies involving residents.
• Engage in on-call nursing rotations and leadership.
• Address resident/family concerns promptly and effectively.
• Serve as RN Charge Nurse when required; maintain safe environment.
• Supervise development and continuation of center programs.
• Maintain resident records and up-to-date medical treatment charts.
