Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the state.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
• 1 year RN perioperative/CCU experience or 3 years Surgical Technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
• Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
• Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families.
• Process patients through the ASC.
• Assess the level of personnel skills and availability of resources.
• Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission.
• Monitor and evaluate cost-effective practices within the ASC.
• Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families, and staff members.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing

Experience:

• 1 year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR 3 years of Surgical Technician experience

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire
