Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Independence Family Health Center is hiring an RN Ambulatory for Endocrine Specialties. The role involves nursing care in an ambulatory setting, patient assessment, triage, and collaboration with physicians.

The position requires RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and experience in ambulatory care. Expect regional travel and a schedule including evenings and Saturdays as part of a rotating pattern.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have ACLS within six months of hire.
  • One year of recent RN or LPN or related ambulatory/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephonetriage, and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Notify the physician or LIP of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education for patients and families.
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.

In this role, you will interact directly with patients,familiesand visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. A caregiver in thisposition worksa primary shift of 8:30am to 5:00pm with a Monday evening rotation and Saturday rotation, both occurring every 4 weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephonetriage,andestablishcare plans.
  • Administermedicationand treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assistwith specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeuticprocedures,and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate,adaptand document health education and provide it to patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accreditedSchool ofNursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire
  • One yearof recent experience as an RNORLPN, MedicalAssistantand/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experienceif applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role butremainingin the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting ORa current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’sofScience inNursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
