Job summary

Spring Creek Rehab & Healthcare Center in Harrisburg, PA seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to co-lead the nursing team. The RN will bring leadership experience in long-term care and oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with standards.

The role involves supporting the DON, coordinating with resident services, and guiding staff training, with a focus on SH.A.R.E values and quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or health care setting.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and regulations governing facilities.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing day-to-day nursing service operations.
• Ensure reference materials at nurses' stations are current and accessible.
• Recommend materials to DON to meet resident needs.
• Develop and implement nursing service organizational structure.
• Provide written/oral reports or recommendations to the DON.
• Review and revise policies and procedures with the DON.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Assist in discharge planning components of the resident's plan.
• Monitor QA/QM and survey reports; provide recommendations for improvement.
• Post daily staffing information and assist in scheduling.
• In DON's absence, participate in committees.
• Assist in reports to committees and in DON communications.
• Assist in recruitment of nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure staff performance.
• Monitor absenteeism to maintain adequate staffing.
• Review complaints and report findings to DON.
• Provide information on resident nursing needs and service capacity.
• Report medication errors and help with corrective actions.
• Plan and provide in-service training on universal precautions.
• Develop annual in-service training programs (OSHA, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, Infection Control).
• Develop advance directive training for staff and community.
• Coordinate with support services on nursing training programs.
• Develop safety standards for the nursing service.
• Assist the DON and/or Infection Control RN with exposure control tasks.
• Assist planning/scheduling/revising the MDS and RAPs/Triggers.
• Assist in care plan scheduling and assessments for committees.
• Participate in budgeting for nursing services.
