Job summary

Freeman Health System in Missouri is seeking an experienced RN to support admissions, bed control, and direct call coordination for direct admit patients. You will perform nursing assessments and monitor patients until transfer to the unit.

The role is part-time, Sundays 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with various certifications required such as ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and Missouri RN license or compact state license. Benefits available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or compact state.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Stroke-related CEU requirements must be fulfilled annually.
• Nursing orientation must be successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist admissions, bed control, and direct call for placement of Admit patients.
• Perform nursing assessment and monitor patients until transfer to the unit.
• Assist nursing units with admissions and discharges as needed.
• Monitor Admit/Discharge Lounge patients awaiting transportation.

Education

What You’ll Do

Works with Admissions, Bed Control, and Direct Call in the appropriate placement of direct admit patients, completing nursing assessment, and monitoring patients until taken to the nursing unit. Assists nursing units with admissions and discharges and monitors any patients in the Admit/Discharge Lounge while waiting for transportation at discharge.

Requirements

• 1.AHA ACLS within 90 days.
• 2.AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
• 3.CardioVascular Disease CEU hours - 4 per year annually by transcript due date.
• 4. Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.
• 5. Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.
• 6. NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 365 days.
• 7. RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
• 8. Stroke CEU Hours - 4 per year annually by transcript due date
