Freeman Health System seeks a licensed Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Medical Unit (Stroke Unit). You will assess patients under professional guidance, develop care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality nursing care and patient outcomes.

About Us – Stroke Unit (CMU - Cardiac Medical Unit)

The Cardiac Medical Unit is a 35-bed department consisting of multidisciplinary teams of RNs, LPNs, nurse technicians, and ancillary staff. We work together to provide compassionate patient care for stroke and dialysis patients.

CMU serves Freeman and our community as the designated stroke floor to help maintain a Level II Stroke Accreditation.

We serve a population of hemodynamically stable neuro-medical and renal patients.

What You’ll Do

Under The Direction Of Professionals, Systematically And Continually Assesses The Physical, Emotional, Clinical, And Psychosocial Needs Of Assigned Patients And Families; Plans And Implements Appropriate Interventions; And Evaluates Effectiveness And Adjusts Plan As Indicated In A Timely Manner In The Provision Of Safe And Effective Care.

Requirements

• Eligible To Sit For State Boards.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification Preferred.
• Must Successfully Complete Rn Residency.
• Must Obtain A Missouri Registered Nurse License Or Registered Nurse License From A Compact State Within Ninety (90) Days After Graduation Or Thirty (30) Days After Passing The Nclex Exam In A State Other Than Missouri. If Obtaining A Compact License It Must Be Held In The Registered Nurses State Of Residence.
• Must Successfully Pass Patient Care Orientation (Pco) Within 30 Days Of Hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification Preferred.
• Asls Preferred, But Not Required.
• Acls For Advanced Practice Within 120 Days.
• Aha Bls For Healthcare Providers Within 60 Days.
• Asls - Advanced Stroke Life Support Within 180 Days.
• Nih Stroke Scale Certification Within 90 Days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (Cpi) Within 365 Days.
• Rn Competency Day Annually By Transcript Due Date.
• Stroke Ceu Hours - 8 Per Year Annually By Transcript Due Date.
