Job summary

The Admissions Facilitator at Beth Israel Lahey Health supports bed placement and patient flow across BILH facilities. This part-time role is office-based in Charlestown, requiring strong critical thinking, clinical triage skills, and collaboration with nurses, case managers, and physicians.

You will monitor transfers, coordinate admissions for EDs, PACUs, ICUs and clinics, participate in daily planning, and help optimize bed capacity while adhering to nursing practice guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Registered Nurse license required and Basic Life Support certification.
• 3–5 years of related work experience required.
• Experience demonstrating professional competence and leadership.
• Experience with computer systems including MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees patient flow and bed allocation across inpatient areas.
• Facilitates admissions and transfers within Emergency Departments, PACUs, ICUs, Cath Labs, and Clinics.
• Coordinates admissions plan through daily meetings and collaboration with leadership, nurses, case managers and physicians.
• Supports quality improvement activities related to patient flow and bed capacity across the health system.
• Interfaces with referring hospitals and coordinates transfers to appropriate units based on clinical needs.
