Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our admissions team at Southcoast Behavioral Health. As an Admissions RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients. Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will contribute to delivering high-quality care. Southcoast Behavioral is committed to providing exceptional mental health services to our community. In Intake and Admissions, you can make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Work Schedule: FT Evenings or PRN. 8-hour shifts

Populations: Child/Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric

Rates: Between $39.00 - $51.00 (depending on experience and education)

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medical documentation, complete medication reconciliation, obtain admission orders
  • Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities
  • Review referrals, assess medical and behavioral acuity, respond within timeframes
  • Respond to inquiries, conduct assessments, collaborate with medical and psychiatric staff
  • Facilitate admissions, including assessment, consent, and inventory of belongings
  • Perform insurance verifications and secure pre-authorizations
  • Monitor patient status, ensure timely receipt of clinical information
  • Schedule pre-admission assessments, communicate with physicians and families
  • Maintain accurate medical records, complete pre-authorization, and admit patients into systems
  • Provide empathetic, professional attitude, prioritize safety, address concerns
  • Coordinate care for non-admitted patients, conduct safety checks

Qualifications

We seek a motivated individual passionate about patient care and smooth admissions processes.

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (minimum)
  • At least one year of clinical or observational experience, preferably relevant to mental health

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active nursing license in the state
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certifications (training provided)
  • First aid may be required depending on state or facility policies
