Job summary

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Round Rock is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver nursing care in a long-term acute care setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with physicians, family, and interdisciplinary staff.

The role requires state RN licensure, BCLS, and prefers ACLS; six months of Medical/Surgical experience is advantageous. The team emphasizes patient-centered care and discharge planning to support recovery pathways.

Qualifications

• RN with state licensure required upon hire.
• BCLS required upon hire.
• ACLS preferred upon hire.
• Six months of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation).
• Develop and update nursing care plans with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to Physicians and Nursing leadership.
• Participate in discharge planning and transition planning.
• Document thoroughly in the patient’s medical records following standards and policies.
• Administer medications safely following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide patient and family education on care plans and expectations.
• Interact professionally with patient/family and coordinate with other departments for interdisciplinary care.
