RN Cardiac (Department of Corrections Unit) Position Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

About the Department of Corrections Unit

A specialized acute care unit focused on teamwork and personalized attention, providing high-quality, compassionate care. Our dedicated healthcare professionals work together to ensure the best outcomes, supported by leadership committed to your growth and success.

Responsibilities
  • The primary care RN coordinates all disciplines to achieve organized patient care, including delegation of appropriate patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Conducts systematic assessments covering physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Updates patient records to accurately reflect patient condition.
  • Develops and implements care plans with measurable goals in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Coordinates discharge planning with healthcare team members.
  • Monitors vital signs, telemetry, and interprets EKGs.
  • Ensures patient safety and administers medications.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Supervises staff and manages multiple tasks.
Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certifications: Valid Arizona Nursing License or compact state license; BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year RN experience.
