RN Cardiac (Department Of Corrections Unit) Position Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

About The Department Of Corrections Unit

A specialized acute care unit emphasizing teamwork and personalized attention. Our dedicated healthcare professionals work together to provide individualized care and ensure high-quality outcomes. Our leadership fosters an environment of growth, encouragement, and empowerment.

Responsibilities

  1. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assessment involves collecting and analyzing physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle data.
  2. Updating patient records to accurately reflect patient condition.
  3. Developing and implementing care plans based on assessments and problem identification.
  4. Coordinating discharge planning with healthcare team members.
  5. Monitoring vital signs, telemetry, and interpreting EKGs.
  6. Ensuring patient safety.
  7. Administering medications and providing patient/family education.
  8. Supervision and multitasking.

Qualifications

  • Valid Arizona Nursing License or compact state license, ability to obtain Arizona license within 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum of one year RN experience.
