Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the 4th Floor Acute Care Cardiac Unit, providing compassionate, patient-centered care and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

The schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. A $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance up to $8,000 are offered for eligible hires.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; RN license required.
  • RN License in state of employment.
  • Physical requirements: medium work, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs; evaluate and intervene for optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans; monitor outcomes with interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain patient charts and records accurately; document status, interventions, and responses; use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
  • Promote health, safety, and rights of patients; advocate for patients and families; provide education based on learning readiness.

As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

Every day you will promote optimal patient health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and our organizational mission.

  • Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

We are offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus in addition, up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

The 4th Floor Acute Care Cardiac Unit at St. Anthony Hospital, an achieved Magnet hospital, consists of 36 beds and is primarily a telemetry unit with medical/surgical overflow. Our typical patient population includes heart failure, pre and post-cardiac catheterization, abnormal arrhythmias, vascular surgery, TAVRs, ablations, and other cardiac patients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of quality, patient-centered, and safe care to all patients who come through our doors while also creating an atmosphere that is fun, exciting, and engaging to work in. Working on the 4th floor of the hospital provides nurses with an environment that is team-focused, supportive, and adaptable to the changes in healthcare. Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.
