St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado is seeking an RN for the Weekend Option to collaborate with the healthcare team and patients to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.

The RN will promote safety and high-quality care following nursing standards and the State Nurse Practice Act, while aligning with our mission and values. A strong focus on assessment, planning, and patient education will be essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
  • One year of experience.
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
  • RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
  • Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN, Weekend Option, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.

Every day you will promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act, all while demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational values.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical assessment and communication skills, adaptability for weekend duties, and a commitment to patient safety and adherence to nursing standards, aligned with our organizational mission and core values.

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

We are offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus in addition, up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

The 4th Floor Acute Care Cardiac Unit at St. Anthony Hospital, an achieved Magnet® hospital, consists of 36 beds and is primarily a telemetry unit with medical/surgical overflow. Our typical patient population includes heart failure, pre and post-cardiac catheterization, abnormal arrhythmias, vascular surgery, TAVRs, ablations, and other cardiac patients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of quality, patient-centered, and safe care to all patients who come through our doors while also creating an atmosphere that is fun, exciting, and engaging to work in. Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life® Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.
