Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the 7A Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. This 40-bed neurocranie unit serves patients with various neurological and surgical conditions. Candidates must have current PA RN licensure, CPR certification, and various background clearance certificates. The position involves working 72 hours every two weeks, with rotating weekends and holidays.

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide care based on nursing process for a designated patient population.
• Demonstrate clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Deliver safe and effective care according to regulatory requirements.
• Direct and manage patient care delivery by team members.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide education customized to age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Allegheny General Hospital’s 7A Unit is a 40‑bed neurocranie unit serving patients with neuro, cranial, stroke, cervical and lumbar surgery, pituitary tumor resections, and other complex cases including brain tumors, MVA, gunshot, encephalopathic brain cases of unknown origin, Guillain–Barre, myasthenia gravis, and off‑service medical patients.
