Job summary

Mercy in Joplin is seeking an RN for the MedSurg service line. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinates care with other departments. Day and night shifts are available and the unit offers a supportive team environment.

This role serves a diverse patient population in a Renal/Oncology unit with opportunities for certification in peritoneal dialysis and chemotherapy, under Mercy's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification.

The Mercy Joplin MedSurg Service Line is made up of several specialty units that will provide experience with patient populations with a varying range of diagnoses and care needs. Functionally, these units house and care for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. Whether you are a new grad nurse looking to build a strong base before launching into your future career/educational plans or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety in their everyday work, Med Surg is the place for you!

Our Renal/Oncology Unit is a 21-private bed unit that offers a diverse mix of general medical, renal and oncology patients. Our Nurses work on a support team of educators, PCA/PCT's, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, PT/OT and Speech Therapists. You will have the opportunity to receive certification in both peritoneal dialysis and chemotherapy.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: Current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
