Job summary

Mercy Joplin MedSurg is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with educators, clinicians, and care teams to coordinate treatment and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited school.
• Current RN license in the state where nursing duties are performed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS credentials encouraged/earned on the job.

• Coordinates patient care with other departments and maintains patient rights/confidentiality.

The Mercy Joplin MedSurg Service Line is made up of several specialty units that will provide experience with patient populations with a varying range of diagnoses and care needs.Functionally, these units house and care for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions.Whether you are a new grad nurse looking to build a strong base before launching into your future career/educational plans or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety in their everyday work, Med Surg is the place for you!

Our Cardiac Unit is a 24-private bed unit that serves a wide range of patients, including those with general cardiac needs, pre and post procedure cares, cardiac dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and vascular conditions & procedures. Our Nurses work on a support team of educators, PCA/PCT's, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, PT/OT and Speech Therapists. You will earn credentials in ACLS and build strong clinical skills for our cardiac and vascular population.

Great steppingstone into our ICU, ED & NICU units

Qualifications

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: Current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
