Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for daily patient care operations in the assigned department, under the Nurse Manager's guidance.
  2. Manage patient care assignments, uphold clinical standards, and supervise the patient care environment.
  3. Support the care team and Nurse Manager activities.
  4. Maintain positive relationships within and across departments.
  5. Oversee patient throughput activities in the unit.
  6. Implement evidence-based nursing practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes, in accordance with the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise nursing personnel, assign and evaluate patient care, and observe staff performance during shifts.
  2. Optimize resource utilization to support staff and maintain a therapeutic environment.
  3. Monitor staffing and resources to meet patient care needs.
  4. Communicate personnel concerns to the Unit Manager.
  5. Apply systematic problem-solving approaches.
  6. Promote Patient Experience best practices, such as hourly rounding.
  7. Uphold professional standards and accountability among staff.
  8. Maintain confidentiality, assist with audits and data collection.
  9. Contribute to the department's efficient operation.
  10. Perform direct patient care as needed, managing an assigned group of patients.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
  • Active RN licensure in Kentucky or multistate privileges.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Previous experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency, or Critical Care.
