Job summary

The New York State Department of Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) 1 at the Veterans Home in Batavia to provide professional nursing services using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will be accountable for MDS data and coordinating residents' care plans with the interdisciplinary team.

You will administer medications and direct resident care, monitor supplies, and communicate residents' needs to medical staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess a license and current registration as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Reassignment or transfer options within NYS DOH Veterans Home Batavia are described in the posting.
• Preferred experience in long-term care with geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing services using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Administer medications and direct resident care; monitor supplies to meet resident needs.
• Coordinate residents' care plans through the MDS 3.0 process with the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in policy development, supervision of staff, and possible cottage clinical management.
