Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, night-shift role in Valley Stream, NY. The RN will plan, implement, and evaluate nursing regimens, collaborate with physicians and health team members, and deliver high-quality care while ensuring patient privacy and dignity.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, NY RN licensure, and BSN in progress or completion within five years.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment if hired after September 1, 2010, and obtain a BSN degree within five years of employment date.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Perform admission assessments documented on Nursing Care Plans and Nurses notes.
• Reassess patients with changes in condition.
• Keep the supervisor informed of changes in patients' conditions and treatments.
• Collaborate with health team members for necessary follow-ups.
• Explain procedures to patients before they are performed.
• Administer patient care while considering privacy and dignity.
• Act rapidly and effectively during emergency situations.
• Contribute to patient care evaluation through unit performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with health team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.
