Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room in New York, NY, for a full-time day shift. The RN will assess patients, develop and evaluate care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have a NYS RN license, BCLS/ACLS or PALS, and a BSN or progress toward one within five years. At least 1 year of OR experience is preferred, with opportunities for ongoing education and patient safety focus.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BCLS, ACLS or PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate plan of care.
• Systematically assess patient knowledge and health via interviews and exams.
• Consult with multidisciplinary care team on nursing findings.
• Create individualized care plans based on patient needs and input from the team.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team.
• Provide and/or delegate patient care per established protocols.
• Conduct clinical rounds and administer medications.
• Perform procedures and treatments including wound care and pre/post-operative care.
• Document patient care on appropriate forms and charts.
• Identify learning needs and develop teaching plans.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for delivering and ensuring patient care by assessing and diagnosing conditions, developing care plans, and evaluating patient responses. What You'll Do

• Develop and evaluate plan of care.

Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS or PALS required.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment if hired after September 1, 2010, and obtain a BSN degree within five years of employment date.
