The Registered Nurse provides clinical nursing services across both project sites and supports in-person MOUD services at the Ocean County location. This position works closely with prescribing clinicians, the medical director, Care Coordinators, and other clinical staff.
Your responsibilities may include:
Provide nursing assessments, triage, and clinical monitoring at both project sites.
Assess client needs and communicate clinical concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
Monitor client health and treatment progress.
Coordinate with prescribing clinicians, the medical director, and Care Coordinators regarding client care.
Provide clinical support within the scope of nursing practice and organizational policies.
Participate in clinical chart review and quality improvement activities.
Provide education, screening, and testing for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, sexually transmitted infections, and latent tuberculosis.
Provide education regarding infectious disease prevention
Ensure clients with positive screening results are appropriately linked to care
Offer Hepatitis A and B vaccination when clinically indicated
Provide education and referrals for pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis when appropriate
Maintain accurate documentation of screening, testing, education, and referrals
Support medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) services
Support MOUD administration, induction monitoring, and dosing consistent with applicable regulations and OTP policies
Provide in-person buprenorphine and extended-release naltrexone services at the Ocean County site
Educate clients regarding medication adherence
Provide intensified clinical monitoring and support for clients undergoing a clinically indicated medication taper or discontinuation
Maintain medication accountability, storage, and disposal records
Follow applicable federal and state requirements for medication management
Support overdose prevention and response services
Assist with distribution of naloxone or nalmefene when permitted
Provide overdose prevention education
Distribute lock boxes and medication disposal kits
Educate clients and families about available overdose prevention resources
Follow organizational protocols for overdose response and prevention
Deliver tobacco cessation services integrated into OUD treatment
Educate clients regarding healthy behaviors and treatment adherence
Provide education related to overdose prevention and medication safety
Connect clients with appropriate healthcare and community resources
Provide clinical direction to the Certified Medical Assistant
Verify that assigned Certified Medical Assistant duties remain within the appropriate scope of certification
Collaborate with prescribing clinicians, the medical director, and Care Coordinators
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Support clinical chart reviews
Participate in Ocean County OTP licensure readiness activities

Required:
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
Minimum of two years of nursing experience, including experience with substance use disorder or infectious disease services
Familiarity with MOUD protocols and applicable 42 CFR Part 8 requirements
Current BLS or CPR certification
Valid New Jersey driver's license and ability to routinely travel between the Trenton and Toms River sites
Must meet applicable agency driving and insurance requirements
The following experience or credentials are preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certified Addictions Registered Nurse credential
HIV and Hepatitis C counseling and testing certification recognized by the New Jersey Department of Health
Previous experience working in an opioid treatment program
