SandyPines Residential Treatment Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide primary care coordination for pediatric and adolescent patients in a residential psychiatric setting in South Florida.
The RN will assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, plan and evaluate care, and administer or monitor medications under physician guidance. Excellent teamwork and crisis intervention skills are essential.
Full-time Day Registered Nurse (RN) 12 Hour Shifts. Opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.
SandyPines Residential Treatment Center is a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 in South Florida.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Duties include: assess mental health needs; develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Move efficiently enough to meet the needs of several patients and/or move rapidly to provide timely intervention of patient aggression. Able to stand, sit and walk during work shift. Able to hear spoken words in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes or other displays. Recognize vocal intonation that signal changes in acuity. Able to bend, reach and stoop. Must write legibly so as to accurately convey information. Able to read instructions and complete documentation and reports. Restrain, as part of a team, an aggressive patient in a safe and therapeutic manner. Able to lift, position or move patients in order to perform (or assist in) searches and procedures, and/or administer injections. Perform activities requiring manual dexterity. Able to lift 30lbs.
