Vierra Communities is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Silver Spring, MD facility. This RN role covers full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts in a non-exempt setting, offering shift options and competitive pay.

Responsibilities include directing nursing staff, administering medications, and ensuring compliance with policies. Requires RN license, nursing degree, CPR, and background check; experience in long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must Pass a criminal background check.
• Proficiency in technology-driven patient care and HRIS/timekeeping software.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of licensed practical/vocational nurses and CNAs.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing personnel.
• Participates in admission, discharge and transfers of residents.
• Assesses changes in residents’ status and notifies physician and family.
• Transcribes orders and carries out physician orders.
• Prepares and administers medications and observes for adverse effects.

Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must Pass a criminal background check
• Requires proficiency in technology-driven patient care and HRIS and timekeeping/attendance software.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assess for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.
• Prepares and administers medications as per physicians’ orders and observes for adverse effects as indicated.
