Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group in Herndon, VA seeks an Assessment and Authorization Specialist to support a Cyber Security team. The role focuses on driving the A&A process, executing RMF controls, and developing the Systems Security Plan (SSP) for sponsor systems.

The ideal candidate has RMF/A&A experience, strong documentation and briefing skills, and the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders through security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• Experience with RMF methodology and A&A processes.
• Experience managing document repositories and databases.
• Experience with process tracking software and document control.
• Strong writing, communications, and briefing skills.
• Ability to guide technical and non-technical staff.
• Proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of INFOSEC policies, regulations and guidance.
• Experience with cyber risks and mitigations for networks and devices.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and collaboration with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the A&A process, review records.
• Run security scans and implement security updates.
• Apply patches for Windows and Linux environments.
• Configure systems and deploy laptops per security baselines.
• shepherd systems through the security lifecycle and create SSP updates.
